TowBar2U a tried & tested business system
When a company (the franchisor) develops a successful business formula and offers the rights to others (franchisees) to trade under the same Trade Mark, it is called a franchise. As a Franchisee you would be buying the rights to use the 'Trade Mark' and tried & tested business systems of the Franchisor, in a specified exclusive territory over the period of a franchise agreement.
Franchising is a partnership where the franchisor provides start up and ongoing support in return for a fee. Subsequently there is usually far less risk in buying a franchise as apposed to 'going it alone'. A franchisee follows the proven path of the franchisor who has already ironed out all the pit-falls of the programme. Full training and back-up being of paramount importance.
The advantages
There are many advantages with franchising, for example, most banks recognise they face less risks in lending to Franchisees. They often lend on a ratio of 2:1 rather than their normal 1:1 ratio. Franchisees also benefit strongly from the Franchisors valuable brand name, marketing and reputation. (The 'TOWBAR2U' Franchise section lists all the package details).
